Boosters

The Rising Starr Middle School Choral Boosters is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, organized to support the RSMS Choral Department.  The Booster Club has two purposes:

1. To foster team spirit and communication among its members, the choral faculty, and students in the choral program; and,
2. To support the choral program’s yearly educational goals by
   volunteering physical, material, fundraising and moral support beyond that
   provided through public appropriations.

The annual budget is developed, approved and managed by the RSMS Choral Booster Board, and provides educational opportunities such as performances, competitions, new music, instrumentalists, classroom resources, new technologies, instruments, membership in state and national music associations and much more. In addition, the Booster Club pays for our wonderful accompanist Mrs. Shockley to assist with class instruction every Wednesday.

Parents have the opportunity to join the RSMS Choral Boosters through an annual donation, and by selling poinsettias in the annual choral department poinsettia fundraiser.  With current budget cuts, the RSMS Choral Department relies on donations and fundraisers to fund its annual budget. The budget is available for review at the choral meeting prior to the annual RSMS Open House.
